MINI KICKERS
Canvey Island Youth FC is delighted to announce that we are offering football classes for 18 months to 7 year olds as part of our Mini Kickers sessions.
Where and when?
Sessions are held on Saturday mornings at The Cope, Waterside Farm, Canvey Island, Essex, SS8 9R.
We are able to offer a top-of-the-range facility with fantastic viewing around the pitch for the parents to watch their children, together with a café serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, food and snacks.
Each session is for 1 hour starting at 9am for 18months to 3yrs and between 10am – 11am for 4yrs – 7yrs. This allows us to offer your child the appropriate class for their age and ability.
18months – 3yrs
Parents of toddlers who are aged 18-36 months are asked to stay with their child throughout. The session is based around allowing the toddler to take on simple tasks in their own time and at their own pace.
It also allows the coach to manage behaviour and aid the motor skills of each child by informing their parents of the task ahead. This allows for each child to progress at their own pace.
4-7 year olds
These classes are designed and based around colours, numbers and aid the children’s developing listening skills. Not only do the children improve their basic every-day skills, but they learn new skills through sport.
Once they have reached the highest class of
Mini-Kickers, the class is taught more advanced skills and more individual team competitions are involved. This prepares the boys and girls for when they graduate and progress to a youth team at the club.
Where do they go
after Mini-Kickers?
Working in partnership with Canvey Island Youth FC, our programme provides a route into youth football in partnership with one of the biggest football clubs in Essex.
Teams will be formed for age groups starting at under 6 for which they will then move on from mini kickers and start team specific training and matches.
